Originally an 18th century coral warehouse and sugar mill, the late British designer, Oliver Messel carefully restored many of the original features of the Cotton House. Subsequent elegant and tasteful renovation has retained the unique charm and made the hotel one of the most idyllic, luxury hideaways in the Caribbean.

Charming cottages and houses take their places in the beautifully landscaped gardens rising up from L'Ansecoy Bay. The Cotton House Verandah is a willing and discreet party to several diversions, among them reading, conversation, a game of cards, or a midday nap. Guests are invited to enjoy an after dinner drink or a cigar from their special selection.

Guests may escape the midday sun at Messel's Folly around the Cotton House pool. The hilltop vantage offers sweeping views of the lush island terrain with its elegant hillside villas. Like Mustique itself, the mood here is whimsical and relaxed.

DINING

Only the freshest Caribbean ingredients are used in Cotton House dishes, together with imported delicacies from around the world. Breakfast is usually taken in the Veranda Restaurant or served in your bedroom. Lunch is a relaxed affair at the laid-back Beach Café, or you could opt for a picnic hamper from the Cotton House to enjoy on any of the nine beaches around the island. Dinner is served on the Veranda of the peaceful and elegant Great Room and is an informal yet sophisticated event. The new Tree Garden Lounge is the ideal place for drinks or a light meal. For special occasions, private dinners can be arranged at a number of locations around the resort.

FACILITIES

Breakfast and dinner at the Veranda Restaurant, and the Beach Café casual, al fresco dining during the day. The Great Room bar serves drinks, cocktails or afternoon tea. Drinks, sorbets, chilled towels and cold water are served on the beach and pool deck. There is a large swimming pool, tennis courts, mountain bikes, fitness centre, dive shop and a selection of non-motorised watersports including sailing, kayaks, pedal boats and snorkelling. (A charge applies for watersports, payable locally). The spa offers treatments by ESPA and Sundari.

CHILDREN

Cotton Hill Residence

This luxurious private two-bedroom, villa-style residence has panoramic views over the gardens to the Atlantic Ocean and has its own dedicated Butler to cater to every request. It has a large sitting room, dining room with an additional outdoor gazebo and large private swimming pool. Each bedroom has a king bed, individual colonial style furnishings and a spacious bathroom with double basins, large bath and separate shower. The master bedroom is separate from the main residence with its shower located outside offering views over the Atlantic Ocean.

Duplex Suites

These suites are located on the hilltop with vistas of the gardens, the island and the Atlantic or Caribbean. The upper floor of the suites has a bedroom featuring a king bed veiled in romantic voile netting, a private balcony and a large bathroom. On the lower floor of these suites there is another bathroom, a sitting room with one king sofa bed or two single day beds and a terrace with private plunge pool. The private deck is furnished with shade-umbrellas and lounge chairs.

Superior and Deluxe Suites

One-bedroom Deluxe Suites are on the ground floor with views of the garden and Atlantic and have a private terrace with dining table, sun loungers and personal plunge pool. Some of the Suites have a living room with sofa bed making them ideal for families with a maximum of two children. They have one main bathroom with bathtub and walk in shower. A powder room is located off the living room.

One-bedroom Superior Suites are located on the first floor with views of the garden and Atlantic and have a private veranda with dining table and sun loungers. They have a living room with sofa bed making them suitable for families with a maximum of two children. They have one main bathroom with bathtub and walk in shower. A powder room is located off the living room.

Superior and Deluxe Rooms

Deluxe Rooms have French doors leading onto a private terrace with dining table, sun loungers and a personal plunge pool and stunning views of the Caribbean. They feature separate baths and showers surrounded by lush tropical plants. The Superior Rooms feature a raised bathtub affording bath-time sunset views of the Caribbean together with an outdoor shower to complete the bathroom experience. The bedroom has a semi-circle wall of French doors opening onto a wrap-around veranda with superb views of the Caribbean.

Cottages

The West Indian-styled cottages are individual accommodations located next to the pool with views to the Atlantic. The bedrooms have king-size beds, large dressing rooms and bathrooms with raised baths. Each room opens onto a large veranda which is furnished with lounge chairs and dining furniture.
